Moving payment processors without losing a sale

A step-by-step look at switching providers on your online store while keeping checkout live the whole time.

Most owners put off switching processors for one reason: they’re afraid checkout will break. It doesn’t have to. With a little planning, your customers never notice the change.

Before you switch

  • Pull your last three statements so you know exactly what you pay today.
  • Check your current agreement for an early termination fee and the notice period.
  • List everything that touches payments: your cart, invoicing tool, subscriptions and any saved cards.

Run both side by side

We set up the new gateway next to your current one instead of replacing it. Your store keeps taking payments on the old account while we connect, configure and test the new one.

Once test transactions settle into your bank account, we flip the switch during your slowest hours. If anything looks off, switching back takes minutes.

After the switch

  • Watch your first few deposits and match them to your sales reports.
  • Keep the old account open until any pending refunds or disputes are closed.
  • Send written notice to cancel the old account once you’re confident.

Want a second opinion on your statement?

Send us a recent statement and we’ll show you what you pay now and what you could pay. It’s free and there’s no commitment.
